Aquarium Filters

The Serenity Biochemical Sponge Filter adds oxygen to the water while supporting colonisation of bacteria to assist with the breakdown of harmful waste like ammonia. It will provide the fish with a cleaner living environment.

Sponge filters are particularly useful for breeding tanks or as a secondary filter in regular aquariums.

SIZES:
Pico: Suits tanks up to 8Litres. Sponge size 4cm x 4cm.

Nano: Suits tanks up to 40 Litres. Sponge size 5.5cm x 4.5cm.

Small: Suits tanks up to 100 Litres. Sponge size 8cm x 6.5cm.

Medium: Suits tanks up to 150 Litres. Sponge Size 6cm x 12cm.

Large: Suits tanks up to 200 Litres. Sponge size 10cm x 12cm.

Note: If using as a stand alone filter you will also need airline tubing and an air pump which are sold separately.

The EHEIM pickup is a small practical filter with a special concept.



The special thing about the concept of the pickup  is that the filter canister together with its cartridge can be removed from above, while the pump unit remains in the tank. This is a very practical solution for cleaning or changing the filter cartridge.

The pump sucks in the water from below and carries it through the filter cartridge to the top. Here the filtered water is directed back into the tank via the rotatable outlet nozzle.



The filter is simple to attach in the tank with suction cups.

Bioscape Tropic's Velocity range of internal power filters is designed to keep your fish tank water clean and healthy for your fish.

Suitable for freshwater and saltwater.

Contains the following media:
Black Foam: to remove dirt and debris.
Activated Carbon: Removes chlorine, tannins and phenols harmful to fish.
Phosphate Pad: Removes phosphate that results from uneaten food, plant debris and fish waste. All can cause unwanted algae growth.

The filter also includes an air inlet pipe and regulator which can be optionally attached to the outflow to increase the oxygenation of the tank water.

To change the filter media, the filter can be taken apart in segments and the old media swapped for new.

As a guide to media replacement frequency, the manufacturer suggests:

• Activated carbon every 6-8 weeks
• Phosphate pad (green) every 4 - 6 weeks
• Black sponge used until no longer hold shape.

The Bioscape Undergravel Filter is a simple, effective aquarium filtration system based on a time-tested design that continues to deliver reliable results. Designed to sit beneath the substrate, it uses the gravel bed itself as part of the filtration process, helping to support a cleaner, healthier aquarium.

By drawing water down through the gravel, the Bioscape Undergravel Filter creates a large surface area for beneficial bacteria to colonise. This helps promote strong biological filtration, supporting the breakdown of harmful ammonia and nitrites and contributing to more stable water quality over time.

One of the key advantages of an undergravel filter is the way it turns the entire substrate bed into a working filter. Rather than relying only on a small cartridge or compact media chamber, it makes use of the space already in your aquarium to help maintain a balanced aquatic environment.

This style of filtration is also valued for its straightforward design. With few moving parts, undergravel filters are easy to set up, easy to operate and dependable in day-to-day use. When paired with an air pump or powerhead, they provide steady water movement through the substrate to support consistent filtration.

As water is pulled through the gravel, waste and fine debris can be trapped in the substrate, where they can be removed during regular gravel cleaning. This helps support clearer water and encourages good maintenance habits as part of routine tank care.

Suitable Substrates:
Undergravel filters work best with standard aquarium gravel or other coarse substrates that allow water to flow freely through the bed. Very fine sand or compact substrates are not recommended, as they can restrict water movement and reduce the effectiveness of the filter.
