This product does have a tendency to slip off, especially the strap across the back. This results in the knee brace slipping off the joint. However, when it is position, it has helped stabilise the joint. The sizing wasn't particularly useful. Our first knee brace was too small and had to buy a larger one. Vetpetdirect were effcicient and the brace arrived quickly.
Where do I start
First of all very cheaply made and it shows after my girl wearing it for 2 days the Velcro doesn’t stick anymore and i spent more time fixing it so it supported her better then she did wearing it
Not happy with this product. The strap across the back slips off. It needs the dog to wear a harness so a strap can be attached to the harness then to the strap across the back to keep it in place. For the price I didn't think I would have to make adjustments myself. Also the leg cover is hard to put on.
we found that our dog has big paws which made the brace painful for him when we put it on, we did measure and it was the correct size. He is an old dog and the back strap proved to uncomfortable for him to wear for longer than a week. It was worth a try and gave us other ideas for him to be comfortable.
This business was great to deal with and would recommend but the product was complete rubbish. These "leg braces" are useless and a bandage worked better.
The Kruuse Rehab Knee Protector can be used before and after surgery and in cases of chronic arthritis, cruciate ligament injuries, arthritis, OCD, meniscus injury, kneecap problems, tendinitis, etc.
The knee protector must be pulled up along the leg to sit well. This is done by stretching the knee protector up on the dog's leg to cover the dog's knee properly. Lead the soft strap that holds the protector in place under the abdomen and over the back and fasten it on the corresponding velcro on the outer side of the protector.
Please note you require a firm fit for the knee protector to be effective. If you have a dog that is in pain it may be a little difficult to put on, but getting a size larger than required will not provide adequate support and will likely keep slipping down.
Care: Wash by hand & air dry.
TYPE: Left Leg; Right Leg
SIZES: A range of sizes are available from XXXS to XXL.
Sizes Breed Examples
XXXS Chihuahua, Maltese, Yorkshire Terrier, Papillon
XXS Bichon Frisé, English Toy Spaniel
XS Cocker Spaniel, Fox Terrier, Sheltie
S Whippet, Kelpie
M Labrador, Border Collie, Springer Spaniel
L German Shepherd, Boxer
XL Rottweiler
XXL Bernese Mountain Dog
We recommend you view the detailed sizing chart below to choose an appropriate size for your dog.
Please actually measure your dog for the appropriate size. The breed recommendations are only a rough guide. The actual measurements from your dog are more accurate. Measurements on the size chart are of the protector lying flat (so the half the circumference).
